Common Issues on 3D Printing and How to solve them

 

 3D Printing tend to have a harder learning curve that some other skills. 

There are usually a variety of situations that may cause your prints to not look as you expect or may even be damaging your printer.

This are some common issues and how to easily solve them

Clogged Extruder

Possible Cause/Solution

  • The Nozzle is to Close to the Heated Bed / Do an Autoleveling through the Printer Commands Menu, the G-Code: G32 or change the Z Max Length to adjust your printer.

  • Print Temperature is too low / Set printing Temperature 5-10 degrees higher

  • Filament is dirty and damaged / Take out the filament, do a clean cut 10-20 cm from the end and feed again.

  • Filament is stuck in the Nozzle / Purge the extruder: Heat up to 300 degrees and feed the filament or exchange the nozzle

The Print is not sticking to the Heated Bed

Possible Cause/Solution

  • The Nozzle is to far to the Heated Bed / Do an Autoleveling through the Printer Commands Menu, the G-Code: G32 or change the Z Max Length to adjust your printer.

  • Not Enough Glue / Put a thin layer of glue and spread it with the spatula 

  • Heat up the Printing Platform / PLA and ABS usually stick to the Bed at a Temperature of 50-70 degrees Celsius. For other materials check your providers suggestions.

Insufficient Extrusion 

Possible Cause/Solution

  • Printing Speed is to High / Take down the speed 10-20%

  • Print Temperature is too low / Set printing Temperature 5-10 degrees higher

  • There is a pollutant in the Nozzle / Take out the Nozzle and clean the pollutant from it.

Threads Between The Print 

Possible Cause/Solution

  • Print Temperature is too high / Set printing Temperature 5-10 degrees lower

Tha Platform is not correctly leveled 

Possible Cause/Solution

  • The Nozzle is touching the platform / Do an Autoleveling through the Printer Commands Menu, the G-Code: G32 or decrease the "Z Max Length" in the EEPROM by -0.20mm

  • The Nozzle is to far away from the Heated Bed / Do an Autoleveling through the Printer Commands Menu, the G-Code: G32 or increase the "Z Max Length" in the EEPROM by +0.20mm.
